IRINA MALEEVA was born in Bulgaria to a leading lady of the Bulgarian stage and a war hero father who led the anti-Nazi movement for his country. She first established herself as a child actor in Italy, where she studied acting, earned a degree in set design, became a painter and learned seven languages.
At age 15, she was discovered by the great Federico Fellini, and performed in three of his films. Collaborations with Luchino Visconti and Roberto Rossellini soon followed.
Irina dedicates the album to everyone who has tasted life and love the way she has - with all its ups and downs, living between heaven and hell - and who, in spite of it all, keep in their hearts the belief in everlasting love. Is it a beautiful illusion? Or is it a reality only we can make happen?
"There may be trouble ahead but while there's moonlight and music and love and romance, Let's Face The Music And Dance" Irving Berlin
