Today Webmasterchecks announced that Dwolla will be its exclusive payment service provider and an additional payment option for their clients.

“Ever since we dropped PayPal a year or so ago, we have been looking for a replacement and had not really considered anything until we spoke to Dwolla,” said Webmasterchecks President Mark Greenspan. “Dwolla seems to be a fresh, quickly growing company that can very nimbly respond to their markets needs and I can see them growing and taking up a significant slice of the market.”

Founded in 2008 with services based only in Iowa, Dwolla is a payment network that provides an online payment system and mobile payments network. Dwolla has largely been viewed as a PayPal competitor, or a mobile wallet, the de facto ways to facilitate peer-to-peer payments, or consumer-to-merchant payments. Dwolla's main service to people is that they use a bank account-based payment system, and charge a flat fee of $0.25 per transaction over $10 instead of a percentage.
