The tour has literally been 50 years in the making as the Rolling Stones celebrate half a century of rock through their “50 and Counting” Tour. Rolling Stones tickets, which are already on sale, are available for all seventeen shows across North America. The band is slated to kick off the tour at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on May 2, 2013 marking the first time the band has started an American tour on the west coast. Keith Richards, lead guitarist, couldn’t remember ever opening a tour in California even though the first concert in the United States took place at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino in 1964.

Following the Los Angeles venue, the group will head north to Oakland for night two in Oakland and night three in San Jose. Then its off to Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 11 before they head back south for two nights at the Honda Center in Anaheim and a return to Staples. The group will then head north to Canada before returning for three nights in Chicago at the United Center on May 28, May 31 and June 3. The tour wraps up on the east coast with two shows at TD Garden in Boston and two shows at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on June 18 and June 21.

While no new shows have been announced to date, many industry experts believe the band will add more shows over the upcoming weeks, including owner Robert Gavin.

“Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are both 69 years old,” noted Gavin. “The guys showed they could tour back in 2005 and 2006 with their ‘A Bigger Bang Tour’ and I suspect they are just going to make sure they can still do this the way they want to seven years later. We know how important this tour is to fans and that’s why we are not only discounting prices but we’re also offering free shipping on every order.”
