We knew at the outset that our clients faced an uphill legal battle, but our firm is not afraid to take on the toughest of cases, and we worked hard to seek justice for our client.

The law firm of Chappell, Smith & Arden, P.A. has successfully reached a confidential settlement for a client from Ohio who lost an arm in an alligator attack [docket #9:11-127-DCN]. The client, who was on a private development/golf course at the time, suffered the injury when the alligator leapt out of a pond and attacked.

Although alligators are typically fearful of humans, they can become aggressive when fed by humans. According to court documents, the Plaintiff alleged that the Defendant was aware tourists and visitors regularly fed the alligators, but the Defendant gave no warnings or investigated any alligator-related complaints.
