Chick Lit Novel Explores Reality TV Dating Mishaps Behind the Scenes

In an adventure-style dating reality TV scenario, female contestants compete for a chance at love in a beautiful, tropical locale. As the show progresses and competitors are eliminated, a luxurious reality TV setup turns toward disaster. The final contestants are left stranded in the heart of the jungle. Bethany Ramos explores what happens when reality TV dating goes awry in her second chick lit novel, Adventure to Love.

Adventure to Love, released at Kindle on Amazon on April 17, 2013, is intended to be "brain candy" for fans of both reality TV and chick lit, according to Ramos.

Ramos continues, "Reality TV fans will immediately identify with one of the three main characters in the novel: a narcissistic Hollywood wannabe, an innocent Midwesterner, or the everyday girl-next-door. Whether one of the leading ladies strikes a chord or is a character readers 'love to hate', this novel has a little bit of something for everyone."

Adventure to Love was published by romance publisher Soul Mate Publishing as the debut title in their chick lit category. Soul Mate Publishing specializes in both electronic and paperback romantic fiction. Adventure to Love on Kindle can be ordered through the official Soul Mate Publishing website and on Amazon.

Ramos believes that there was a need for reality TV inspired fiction in the chick lit marketplace due to the inarguable popularity of shows like The Bachelor, Survivor, and NBC's most recent Ready for Love.

"So far, a TV show has yet to explore a crossover between The Bachelor and Survivor, where contestants are put in risky circumstances, all in the name of love. Adventure to Love does just that. I personally remember watching the first season of Survivor more than a decade ago, and I was hooked. I'm also an avid Bachelor fan season after season. It only makes sense that my two favorite shows would work best in a novel compilation, and I hope readers feel the same way," Ramos states.

Ramos published her first chick lit novel in 2011, 5 Stages of Grief. Her children's picture book, Lions Can't Eat Spaghetti, is under contract with 4RV Publishing to be published in 2015. She currently works as Editor in Chief for Naturally Healthy Publications and co-owns a coffee and espresso retail website with her husband (TheCoffeeBump.com).
