TSI Exterior Wall Systems recently announced this past March that they were selected to fix an ongoing window system failure issue at Bayside Office Park in Nassau, Bahamas. They are thrilled by this selection and had six employees leave for the project on St. Patrick’s Day. The project is scheduled to take about 3 months and will include a lot of attention to detail since this project is outside the United States.

Before leaving for the Bahamas, TSI diagnosed the failure of the laminate not adhering to the polycarbonate interlayer. TSI concluded there must be a safe removal of the current failed window system and a full installation of a new Tecnoglass system. The Tecnoglass product has a SGP interlayer that makes the window thicker and stronger than the previous, which is important in hurricane prone areas, without sacrificing any aesthetically pleasing features of the window or building.

For what seems like a simple process, this project does have it's fair share of obstacles even before setting foot in the Caribbean. Projecting what equipment to pack in TSI’s own sea container that was shipped to port, a short time window of three months (one month per building), and a severely limited amount of space and resources has made coordination and communication critical for a successful project. So leaving on St. Patrick’s Day and saying goodbye to love ones for a short while, the six TSI/Local #5 Ironworkers made their trip to the Bahamas. TSI is confident this project will be a success and will add to the tremendous portfolio of previous projects completed. Thus far, the owners are quite pleased with the results.

Established in 1977, TSI Exterior Wall Systems, Inc. (TSI) has grown to become one of the largest local Building Envelope/Glass and Glazing companies in the Baltimore — Washington D.C. area.

Specializing in healthcare/hospitals, class– A office buildings, higher education facilities, government buildings, athletic stadiums, and renovations, TSI has completed nearly 500 projects. TSI is proud to leave its name on landmark projects such as FedEx Field, DC Major League Ballpark, Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center, Capitol One Headquarters, Tower Companies Towers I and II, among countless others.
