We have been at the bedsides of our injured service members from Iraq and Afghanistan for the last ten years; we have the expertise to help, and we needed to be here.
Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 17, 2013
In the wake of Monday’s tragedy in Boston, the nation mourns the lives we lost, and grieves for the injured and their families. These are the first days in what may be a long road to recovery; and America’s Fund will be there to help. The charity program, administered by the veteran non-profit Semper Fi Fund, will be sending staff, volunteers, and amputees wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan to Boston to provide encouragement, guidance, and immediate financial support to victims and their families.
America’s Fund provides the critical financial aid injured veterans need to recover, made possible by the generosity of service members and civilians alike. Recognizing the essential support that America has given them in their mission, America’s Fund set up the Boston Marathon Relief Fund to aid in this homeland terrorist attack, collecting donations that will directly assist victims of the Boston bombings. Assistance will start with the most critically injured and expand as they receive donations for this program.
“We are all too familiar with the challenges that lie ahead for the wounded and their families,” said Semper Fi Fund CEO and President Karen Guenther. “We have been at the bedsides of our injured service members from Iraq and Afghanistan for the last 10 years, and we have supported them in their recovery, so it’s a natural fit. We have the expertise to help, and decided we needed to be here.”
