We look forward to the Initial Conference as a forum in which to begin having these stories heard, and justice ultimately served.

Following the April 8, 2013 order issued by the United States Judicial Panel ("USJP") on Multidistrict Litigation, MDL 2434* consolidating federal lawsuits alleging device migration and similar injuries caused by the Mirena IUD, manufactured by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Audet and Partners, LLP notes the issuance of the first case management order in the consolidated litigation setting May 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. as the date for an Initial Conference. In advance of this conference, the court is requiring that Position Statements be filed by counsel no later than May 11, 2013.

"My office continues to be contacted by women most every day who have suffered serious injuries allegedly caused by use of the Mirena IUD. The nature of these alleged injuries, ranging from intrauterine migration to infertility, have severely disrupted the lives of these women. We look forward to the Initial Conference as a forum in which to begin having these stories heard, and justice ultimately served," state Attorney William Audet of Audet and Partners, LLP.

In addition to the serious complications being alleged by women who have used the Mirena IUD, the position of Attorney Audet emphasizes the extensive and allegedly misleading advertising initiatives launched by Bayer in marketing the Mirena IUD. As noted in a letter issued by the FDA to Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals in 2009**, well-scripted statements made by Bayer representatives misleadingly overstated the proven efficacy of Mirena, and asserted spurious claims that using the Mirena IUD for contraception would result in "reconnection, romance, or intimacy" with partners**.

If you, or one close to you, has suffered serious complications that may be tied to use of the Mirena IUD, you are urged to contact Audet and Partners, LLP for a free consultation at (800) 965-1461, or visit http://www.MirenaComplaints.com.
