Marina Del Rey, CA (PRWEB) April 19, 2013
Dr. Michelle Spring, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Los Angeles at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates, was honored in the Super Doctors 2013 Southern California Rising Stars℠ list, published in a special advertising section of Los Angeles magazine.
"It's always an honor to be recognized for your accomplishments," says Dr. Spring, "especially when it's for something you're so passionate about."
Rising Stars doctors are identified as "top young physicians...that have demonstrated noteworthy achievements early in their careers." This honor indicates that Dr. Spring is among the top 2.5 percent of plastic surgeons in Los Angeles. With Marina Del Rey and Beverly Hills plastic surgery offices, Dr. Spring was selected from the Los Angeles area, a very large area with a high number of plastic surgeons.
The selection process includes both peer-nominated candidates and candidates identified by Key Professional Media's research staff. Doctors nominating their peers are asked by Key Professional Media to nominate a doctor they would choose if they needed medical care in a particular specialty. Doctors are not permitted to nominate themselves, and safeguards are implemented to prevent manipulation of the nomination process. Other candidates are included by Key Professional Media's research team. The team searches for doctors who have earned various credentials or other achievements.
"No one is more deserving of recognition than Dr. Spring," says Dr. Grant Stevens, Medical Director of Marina Plastic Surgery. "She has accomplished more in her relatively brief career than many surgeons achieve in 20 years."
Some of Dr. Spring's achievements include training resident surgeons in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery and providing free reconstructive plastic surgery in Bangladesh, Bolivia, India and other countries. At Marina Plastic Surgery, she specializes in a comprehensive range of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures such as breast augmentation for Beverly Hills and Marina Del Rey women.
Rising Stars candidates are evaluated using nine standards of peer acknowledgment and professional accomplishment, as well as additional quality assurances. Among the criteria are board certifications, leadership positions, fellowships and hospital appointments. Physicians are also reviewed by their peers and must be in good standing with their state or regional licensing boards.
