Clutch Group, a leading provider of professional services for law, is pleased to announce that Michael Sugrue has been named Vice President of Legal and Compliance Solutions effective immediately. Mr. Sugrue, a well-known expert in electronic discovery and compliance, will be based out of Boston, Massachusetts, further expanding the organization’s U.S. footprint.

Mr. Sugrue will work closely with in-house counsel and lead engagement teams for strategic Fortune 500 clients to save their legal and compliance departments millions of dollars and drive greater efficiencies. He will draw upon his vast expertise to help shape Clutch Group’s strategy and develop industry-wide best practices.

Prior to joining Clutch Group, Mr. Sugrue was a Director and Senior Consultant at Stratify/Autonomy/HP since 2008. In this capacity, Mr. Sugrue led engagement teams for some of the largest eDiscovery projects ever conducted, including fast-moving securities investigations, antitrust suits, IP disputes and other complex litigation. In particular, Mr. Sugrue assisted several financial institutions with rapid, high-stakes investigations and litigations relating to subprime lending. Over the years, Mr. Sugrue saved clients millions of dollars by providing advice on defensible and efficient strategies for data collection and early case assessment, the use of advanced technology and emerging review workflows to streamline the review process, and how organizations can realize substantial cost savings through multi-party and multi-matter repositories.

Prior to his work as a consultant, Mr. Sugrue practiced law for seven years at Latham and Watkins in New York City and at Goodwin Procter in Boston. Mr. Sugrue focused his efforts on complex civil litigation, including class action lawsuits arising under the Federal Securities laws, corporate internal investigations and an array of complex commercial litigation matters -- many of which turned on analyzing large volumes of electronic data and evidence under tight time constraints.
