The inaugural Bacon & Barrels at Saarloos and Sons Field will be held July 19-21, 2013 in Los Olivos, California. The event has experienced a near sell-out since tickets went on sale April 1st. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Santa Ynez Valley Visitors Association. The event is produced in partnership with Create Promotions and the Santa Ynez Valley Visitors Association (SYVVA).
Bacon & Barrels at Saarloos and Sons Field promises a fun-filled weekend, featuring creative bacon dishes from the best chefs on the Central Coast, and sampling from barrels of the best in wine, bourbon, and craft beer. The weekend will kick off on Friday with an all bacon dinner under the stars in Los Olivos by famed Central Coast Chef Maegan Loring. At Saturday's main event, chefs from the most iconic Central Coast restaurants like The Ballard Inn, Sides Hardware and Shoes, and Succulent will prepare and serve small plates starring bacon in its most inventive forms from pork belly to prociutto to cupcakes and ice cream. Over 40 Mixologists, brewers, distilleries, and wineries will feature bacon-based and bacon-inspired cocktails, wines and beers. The event will also include artisan and local vendors, all bacon food trucks, down home music by The Mother Corn Shuckers, and a piggy petting zoo courtesy of Pork Palace. The entire family is invited for a fun-filled day of culinary and libatious adventures, interactive demonstrations, and music.
Event Director Holly Holliday, with Create Promotions, states, “Bacon is so exciting right now and can be enjoyed in so many forms: as a base, an ingredient, or a seasoning. We’re having a great time with the Bacon Fanatics that have come out of the woodwork for this event - some of them are already planning for next year!”
The event will be held at Saarloos and Sons Field in Los Olivos. Presenting Sponsors, Keith Saarloos of Saarloos and Sons, states, “As Local Farmers, Winemakers, and Barrel men, Saarloos and Sons is excited to invite the world into our valley, our home, and our backyard.”
Only a limited amount tickets remain for Bacon & Barrels at Saarloos and Sons Field, and Holliday suggests that Bacon Lovers secure their tickets soon.
