Brightline Interactive CEO and JMU alum Erik Muendel is headed to SMAD (School of Media Art & Design) Day 2013 tomorrow, April 19th, at JMU campus.
In addition to portfolio reviews, Erik will also be bringing one of Brightline’s signature experiences, the Twitterbuild, to the event. A Twitterbuild is a custom-designed digital application that pulls tweets from Twitter based on a specified hash tag and/or handle. These tweets are featured on a large screen on-site for a few seconds, break apart by letter, which then transform to create a specified image for the screen. The image develops before the spectators’ eyes, as each tweet helps to build part of the image until the full picture is visible. The process repeats for as many images as desired. The official hash tag of the event will be #SMADday2013.

SMAD Day is an all-day event that invites students to explore opportunities following college. The day features careers sessions for each concentration of the school, as well as sessions on resume reviews, interviewing tips, and portfolio reviews. Led by SMAD alumni and other working professionals, these sessions are important in developing networking connections that may one day lead to internships or jobs.
