Miami attorney Jose Latour, U.S. Managing Partner of Harvey Law Group, was recently named among the "Top Rated Lawyers: International Law & International Trade" by American Lawyer Media.

The 2013 edition of "Top Rated Lawyers: International Law & International Trade" is published in the Winter 2013 issues of The Asian Lawyer and Focus Europe, two special publications for subscribers of Corporate Counsel and The American Lawyer magazines. To compile the listing of top international attorneys, editors from American Lawyer Media worked with LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell to identify the international law attorneys with the highest peer ratings. Mr. Latour has earned the AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest ranking available, continuously for over twenty years.

Mr. Latour’s practice focuses on sourcing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) capital for public and private U.S. clients, structuring of EB-5 Immigrant Investor projects, and representation of high net worth individuals and families with multinational asset bases. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Latour is co-owner of Private Placement Partners, LLC, a boutique multifamily office offering concierge multidisciplinary support services to a select group of private international clients as well as co-owner and Managing Partner of USCIS-approved American Venture Solutions Regional Center (AVSRC), the only EB-5 Regional Center co-owned and managed by a Forbes 400 group. AVSRC is the host regional center to the renowned Lake Point EB-5 Project, a much-heralded public/private mining and ecological restoration project situated in South Florida.

In the summer of 2012, Mr. Latour was named U.S. Managing Partner of Harvey Law Group (HLG), a Canadian immigration firm focused on investment-based immigration to numerous jurisdictions. HLG is headquartered in Montreal, Canada, with its Hong Kong office serving as regional headquarters overseeing HLG’s 16 international offices spanning Asia Pacific, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Mr. Latour has written and spoken extensively on the subject of investment-based immigration, most recently co-authoring ILW’s The Consular Post Book and The EB-5 Book. His widely-read (and often controversial) Immigration Insider blog is considered an EB-5 industry barometer, documenting the rarely-discussed topics and issues in this widely promoted but volatile sector of investment-based immigration. Prior to entering private law practice, Mr. Latour was appointed by the late President Ronald Reagan to serve as US Diplomatic and Consular Officer in Mexico and Equatorial Guinea (West Africa).

This recognition among "Top Rated Lawyers: International Law & International Trade" is the latest distinction for Mr. Latour, who has been recognized by diverse organizations ranging from Inc. Magazine to Cisco Systems to Florida Trend Magazine, the latter of which has named him among Florida’s Legal Elite on multiple occasions. Mr. Latour’s practice was named “2011Private Equity Law Firm of the Year- USA” by Europe’s Finance Monthly magazine.
