By offering a sustainable system that’s simple to use households can dispose of their waste quickly and conveniently. Not only will this reduce unwanted materials but it will also lower costs, creating a win-win situation all around.

Last April an initiative set up by the North London Waste Authority (NLWA) saw the country’s largest collection trial of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) made from the homes of seven north London boroughs – with leading resource recovery service Orion Waste praising the scheme.

With the company operating throughout the southeast of England, Orion Waste is keen for others to follow the example as led by the NLWA in the hope of becoming a nationwide initiative.

A spokesperson from Orion Waste commented: “From an early age we’re taught to ‘waste not, want not’ – and it seems we’ve learnt our lesson by finally putting useless waste to good use."

“Catering to the needs of 1.7 million residents in one of the world’s most busiest capitals is a challenging feat, and just goes to show that there’s more to waste management than people expect. The fact that the NLWA tackled this issue with great results proves that a campaign such as this is not a waste of time, and is in reality a great success.”

Amounting to over 2,900 collections of over 40,000 items, this makes it the UK’s largest ever rubbish collection scheme.

“Ultimately it’s about reducing waste and encouraging others to recycle,” continued Orion’s spokesperson.

“By offering a sustainable system that’s simple to use households can dispose of their waste quickly and conveniently. Not only will this reduce unwanted materials but it will also lower costs, creating a win-win situation all around.”

With over 20 years’ experience in the waste disposal industry, Orion Waste has established a reputable name for itself by providing a high-quality refuse collection. But what makes this London-based stand out from other businesses is its eco-friendly approach; simply by disposing waste in a manner that’s green and clean.

Working with a number of different sectors, Orion Waste Removal London has added to its extensive range of services to help meet their needs. Additional solutions include: wood waste recycling, skip and compactor hire plus office clearance.

Delivering services that benefits both individuals and organisations makes this firm a popular choice for consumers, and given the sheer success of last year’s collection trial scheme, expectations are high that the same will be repeated in the near future.
