The IT sector is seeing a huge resurgence in Dubai - a signal of the wider recovery of the economy in the region
Dubai, UAE (PRWEB) April 21, 2013
Growing demand for IT courses in the UAE has led to an unprecedented number of new computer training courses available.
One such training college, The International Training Institute in Knowledge Village, Dubai is now offering Edexcel’s diploma course in computing and systems development, a course that before now could only be conducted abroad or via distance learning. The BTEC Higher Nationals in Computing, developed with input from the Information and Communications Technology sector, delivers the essential understanding and practical skills for a career in the IT sector.
For the first time students can study the core units of Business Skills for e-Commerce, Computer Systems and Employability and Professional Development, while level 5 learners can also study Project Design, Implementation and Evaluation. All from the Institute’s high tech premises in Knowledge Village. The provision of such a high profile course is seen as evidence of the confidence that has returned to the private education sector, which suffered from the effects of the world financial crisis of 2008.
The diploma course is widely seen as an excellent step towards a career in the lucrative IT sector which has also seen a growing demand for trained and skilled employees in Dubai.
The International Training Institute’s diploma course adds to its already wide range of educational courses ranging from schooling in GED, SAT, IGCSE, O and A levels, through to advanced computing courses such as CompTIA and Security+.
ITI’s managing director Khaled Abou-Ali says: ‘The International Training Institute has an excellent record in providing language training and schooling. We are now expanding our services to offer these exiting new courses in partnership with Cisco, Microsoft and now Edexcel. We advise students to come and talk to us about the great teaching we offer and the amazing careers our courses can lead to’.
Business has been growing for ITI, with many new students enrolling into GED, SAT, O and A level courses which are offered on a one to one basis or in groups. ‘Our strategy is to meet the growing demand for education here in Dubai, particularly in areas of schooling and IT. The wider range of courses in computer networking and now the Edexcel diploma course in computing and systems development are testament to the quality and value of our training courses at the International Training Institute. We started as a language school, but quickly demand grew and each day we can be running classes in Biology or Maths, to English language or Arabic, right through to advanced computer training courses such as CompTIA networking.’
ITI have seen an huge uptake in demand for courses across the board and growth within the private education sector is another sign of a strengthening recovery within the economy of the region.
