Nyjah Huston Street League Gold X Games Foz do Iguacu

To be so young and have already achieved so much Huston appears unstoppable. His determination and amazing talent will allow him to progress and continue to drive the future of street skating.

Foz do Iguacu | Monster Energy congratulates Nyjah Huston who continues to dominate Street League and appears simply unstoppable with his gold medal finish today at Street League’s debut at the X Games. In front of a huge crowd of screaming Brazilian fans, Huston yet again delivered a mind-blowing barrage of technical skating and rolled away with another victory.

Huston’s win is no surprise considering his competition history as the 2012 Street League Skateboarding Champion, his continued authority on the Street Leaguetour from its inception in 2010, and his X Games Los Angeles Skateboard Street Gold medal in 2012, a winning streak that is quickly making him the most dominant competitive street skater in the history of the sport. He has also collected more prize money than any skateboarder in history.

On Friday Huston easily qualified first for today’s final and came into the event ready to win. It was definitely a heated competition in true form where he wasn’t at the top spot throughout the entire competition going head to head with the competitors, but sealed the lead in the final Impact Section where he landed a backside 270 lipslide, cab lipslide, 360 flip to lipslide and kickflip backside lipslide finishing nearly 10 points ahead of the nearest competitor Sean Malto, who took silver in the final showdown. Huston netted out with a final score of 48.8 and Malto finished at distant 39.8.

One of the biggest surprises of the week was that his teammate Chris Cole didn’t advance to the finals, but Shane O’Neill came out in sixth place in the final event scoring 31.2 and hitting some amazing tricks to include a bigspin backtail bigspin and a near make on an attempted bigspin front blunt.

Huston, 19, who first competed in the X Games in 2006, now adds this gold medal to another gold medal, two silver medals, one bronze and a win in X Games Real Street. To be so young and have already achieved so much Huston appears unstoppable. His determination and amazing talent will allow him to progress and continue to drive the future of street skating.
