The AC Edge offers advantages that significantly reduce field installation complexities as well as labor and material cost in comparison to traditional installation practices.
Hayden, ID (PRWEB) April 24, 2013
Transtector Systems, Inc., a Smiths Power business, today announces the market introduction of AC Edge, its new rack mounted AC distribution panel for small critical networks.
Transtector’s AC panel features a dual 60A bus for mission critical redundancy, twelve dedicated circuit breakers (15A max) with corresponding NEMA 5-15 receptacles, optional integrated silicon based surge protection and remote alarming capabilities in a space-saving two rack-unit (RU) form factor.
“The AC Edge offers advantages that significantly reduce field installation complexities as well as labor and material cost in comparison to traditional installation practices,” explains Mark Hendricks, Director of Product Management and Applications Engineering. “The panel’s easily accessible, temporary AC power taps are one of its key features allowing the unit to be powered, tested and dressed before leaving the manufacturer’s staging area. The AC Edge can be connected to regular commercial power or directly to a UPS without requiring a separate panel board. Depending on the loads, multiple Transtector AC distribution panels can even be wired in series.”
To support the requirements of today’s high power networks the Transtector AC Edge is UL 60950 listed as well as Motorola R56, 5kA, Type EPP (Equipment Protection Panel) compliant.
Transtector Systems specializes in the protection of highly sensitive, low voltage equipment through its patented, non-degrading silicon diode technology and custom filters. Its power quality expertise translates into a diverse product offering including AC, DC, and signal applications as well as integrated cabinets, power distribution panels and EMP hardened devices.
