Terma Software Labs a Boulder, CO company offering Workload and IT Operations Analytics software and Arbiter Software a Woodbury, MN company offering Workload Lifecycle Management and Change Control have joined forces to enhance CA AutoSys Workload Automation customers’ ability to reliably and efficiently manage their mission-critical workload automation and job scheduling environments.

Job Scheduling is the backbone of many business processes. Without it, financial transactions don’t complete, consumer goods don’t get shipped, business analytics don't get delivered to management, and important business data doesn’t get properly archived and secured. Job scheduling systems and the processes they manage have become so complex that the cost and risk associated are spiraling out of control. Unfortunately, the ability to manage these systems does not come 'out of the box' with AutoSys causing concerns with compliance and audit regulators, as well as, the management team itself.

"We are very excited about this partnership,” said Jim Anderson, VP of Product Strategy for Terma. "The combined solution brings a unique and powerful solution for Proactive Service Assurance for your AutoSys environment."

Terma and Arbiter recognize this challenge and offer products that help manage the job scheduling environment, both production and non production, more efficiently and reliably. Terma offers JAWS Workload Analytics to help design efficiency into batch processes, test the design, and then manage the processes in production. It includes the ability to analyze jobstream run performance, detailed reports on historical trending and critical path analysis, real-time monitoring, forecasting, and prediction for job runs by defining service level agreements (SLA) for batch processes. It provides intuitive visualization capabilities and alerting that help target points of contention and potential SLA violations. For the end user, JAWS provides role-based views into the workload environment and applies business dashboards that remove the complexity of monitoring and understanding workload for the novice end user.

Arbiter Software’s Automation Change Control Expert (ACCE) provides complete lifecycle management and change control for CA AutoSys. ACCE plugs a critical gap in CA AutoSys environment. It manages all changes to job definitions and manages them through development, testing, and production environments. Extensive logs are provided to ensure that changes can be rolled back if required and that detailed audits can be undertaken to verify the security and integrity of the CA AutoSys database. This tracking capability enables adherence to regulatory compliance standards. ACCE can easily apply mass changes using its 'Mass Update' feature which enables the deployment of granular changes to entire workloads with a single action. Further, a 'Job Compare' feature allows for the detection of errors and accurate monitoring of changes to the workload.

"Terma has built a great reputation of delivering innovative products to the Workload Automation market," said Bob Schwartz, CEO of Arbiter Software. "Partnering with Terma to resell ACCE will enable us to grow faster, execute on our vision, and most importantly help more AutoSys customers move from reactive management proactive service assurance.

The combination of JAWS and ACCE will provide an excellent solution to complex CA AutoSys upgrades and provide a platform for reliable and efficient management moving forward. Based on extensive customer feedback, Terma has partnered with Arbiter to provide customers with a one stop source for the combined solution. Customers can acquire these critical capabilities directly from Terma Software Labs.
