What's new with Renter Ratings at CRX - CarRentalExpress.com? Since the last release of software in April 2013, customer feedback on their rental experiences have been given improved presentation, to make the information easier to use. After vehicle is selected in the rental process, there is a REVIEW tab prominently shown at the top. At that tab, charts seen on the right, as well as text comments, are now available. The first badge shows overall ratings, and four and half of five stars, is one of the best rated agencies at CRX. There are more ratings than reviews for some agencies, because review comments were not required for all ratings until recently. Some agencies have hundreds of ratings and now have 50 plus review comments as well.

The third chart gives a breakdown of the number of good and bad ratings and agency is received. This information is very useful, because if there a lot of bad ratings which balance off good ones, to arrive at a rating of three stars, then that is a signal that buyers should be beware!
Since 2005 CarRentalExpress.com - CRX, has collected literally thousands of consumer ratings on car rental, to create the Renter Rated Program. Initially started as the CRX Consumer Reliability Index or CRI, the program evolved and was more prominently featured in a CRX website update in 2010. Components of the program included a Renter Rated page, where review characteristics were explained, an Agency Comparison page, where review results for every agency were posted based on location, and a related Rate and Win Contest, designed to gather reviews.
The Renter Rated page explains categories of interest in car rental, such as promptness of service, like time the airport pickup and at the counter sign in, and having a rate quote honored. Getting cars in a timely manner is often a big issue with travelers, so this is one of the key customer feedback indicators on service. Likewise, having a rate quote honored is something of a big deal in the car rental industry versus hotels for example.
Many agencies will try to up-sell at the counter during pickup, or insist that insurance coverages required, unless proof of existing insurance is provided. Renters do not need these hassles, so knowing that an agency honored their rate quotes is important statistic within renter ratings. Even vehicle availability can be tricky.
Like airlines, a car rental agency may have some slight over bookings, to compensate for people who do not show up for their rental. A good agency will manage that carefully, so promise vehicles are always available.
