All construction projects exceeding $5 million, regardless of the type of contract, should have a thorough review by third-party licensed professionals.
St. Louis (PRWEB) April 24, 2013
Representatives from Honkamp Krueger & Co., P.C. (HK) will be presenting “Construction Auditing Risks and Cost Segregation Strategies for 2013 and Beyond” at The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Atlanta Chapter training on June 14, 2013.
Matt Gardner, Adam Reisch and Ryan Hauber will be discussing construction auditing, cost segregation studies and how internal auditors can enhance their knowledge on these topics as it relates to the economy.
Organizations can minimize legal, financial and regulatory risk by implementing internal controls during the planning, construction and completion phases of large capital construction projects. By engaging licensed Certified Construction Auditors (CCA) and Construction Control Professionals (CCP) to independently review construction projects, organizations position themselves for maximum capital program effectiveness.
“All construction projects exceeding $5 million, regardless of the type of contract (fixed fee, guaranteed maximum price, cost-plus, etc.), should have a thorough review by third-party licensed professionals,” says Hauber. “These reviews can help organizations of all shapes and sizes protect themselves from the impact of a variety of risks which are prevalent in construction projects within the current economic climate.”
Those participating in the training will also learn how to maximize a company’s depreciation situation from a controls perspective through cost segregation studies.
