Bristol-based online retailer scoops highly prestigious national retail award against some of the UK's leading retailers including John Lewis, Argos and Littlewoods.

“To have achieved national recognition by our peers is an incredibly proud moment for us as a business,” Andy Beresford, Managing Director - Home Leisure Direct

Bristol-based online retailer Home Leisure Direct has scooped a highly prestigious national award in recognition of its customer service and continuous innovation. Competition was stiff, where the company was up against some of the largest names in UK Retail including John Lewis, Argos and Littlewoods.

The ECMOD Direct Commerce Awards attracts over one hundred of the UK’s Home Shopping Retailers, each vying for success in what has become one of the most prestigious awards events in the industry.

In an award that was voted for by their peers, Home Leisure Direct was selected as a business which innovates, inspires and consistently delivers exceptional service, making it the most sought after accolade of the ceremony.

Founded in 2007 by husband and wife team Andy and Michelle Beresford, they saw a gap in the UK market for style-conscious customers who wanted to create games rooms in their own homes. They instantly set about sourcing what has now become the largest selection of games room equipment in Europe.

“We have always strived to create a magical buying experience, both on and offline for our customers,” said Michelle Beresford. “We will continue to invest heavily in the development of our brand, experience and in our showrooms, with plans for opening other key locations throughout the country on the drawing board.”

From their humble beginnings with a small home office and an old computer in 2010, after huge growth they moved into a large showroom in Elberton, where they now employ six staff.

With customers all across the UK and Europe they have seen the business go from strength to strength. “We have seen our sales rise 34% this year despite the much publicised tough trading conditions,” said Andy Beresford, “so to have achieved national recognition by our peers is an incredibly proud moment for us as a business.”
