The not-for-profit, standalone hospital employs about 2,000 professionals - including a 500-member medical staff - and is now using the system to gather feedback from references on hires across the organization.
“We used to ask applicants for their supervisors’ contact information so that we could call them for a reference-check, but we could never get much information from their supervisors,” said Marina Karkas, a recruiter at San Antonio Community Hospital. “We decided to implement SkillSurvey’s Pre-hire 360® and began receiving responses from four references per applicant, two of which are previous or current supervisors. The system is just so simple to use, and because responses are aggregated and confidential, we are able to receive valuable feedback about applicants within a few days.”
SkillSurvey’s Pre-Hire 360® automates the process of gathering input from a job applicant’s references by using behaviorally-based surveys delivered through a web-based platform. The surveys delve into a candidate’s strengths and developmental needs, as borne out on the job.
