Comedian Robert Dubac’s hit performance is making an appearance at the Theatrikos Theatre Company in Flagstaff, Ariz. for a limited engagement May 3-5. THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON? is a one-man comedy show with Dubac playing multiple character roles as he seeks to answer the question, “What do women want?” pinpointing the differences between the sexes and then celebrating them with ninety minutes of non-stop laughter.
THE MALE INTELLECT has garnered envious reviews from San Francisco to Toronto, Chicago to LA. The Boston Globe proclaims, "Robert Dubac is talented, entertaining and very funny!" The Los Angeles Times says, "The show elicits big laughs from both sexes in waves of treble and bass,” while The Philadelphia Inquirer states, “THE MALE INTELLECT is adeptly conceived, refreshingly and comically stated and Dubac has no trouble keeping it up for 90 minutes." The Denver Post and Toronto Star both gave the show its highest four-star rating, raving “THE MALE INTELLECT is hilarious as it is thought-provoking…a brilliant show."
When the show opens we meet "Bobby" in a very confused state having been dumped by the girl of his dreams. Unable to understand why, he channels some not-so-wise but hilarious advice from his five chauvinistic mentors: The Colonel, Jean-Michel, Fast Eddie, Old Mr. Linger, and Ronnie Cabrezzi. Robert Dubac seamlessly transforms himself into these five alter egos; each offering their own brand of misguided advice meant to bring out his "feminine side." Sifting through the bad advice, Dubac discovers the real answer to the age-old question, "What do women want?" And he does it all while drinking a beer. Ladies should brace themselves as they delve into the uncharted territory of how men think.
Hailed by critics and audiences alike, THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON? is a rare thing; a clever combination of theater and stand-up comedy that is laugh out loud funny, provocative and thoughtful, all at once. According to reviews, there are two types of people who should rush and see it – men and women.
The Arizona comedy show will be hosted by Theatrikos Theatre Company. Performances of the show are as follows: May 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. EST and May 5 at 2 p.m. EST.
