Chicago real estate company @properties announced that it has hired Natasha O’Connor as vice president of brokerage services. O’Connor, a 38-year-old Glenview resident, is a real estate veteran with experience in the northern suburbs as well as the city of Chicago.

She will be working out of @properties’ new Glenview office, which will open this summer at the intersection of Glenview Road and Waukegan Road. @properties recently signed a lease for the location, which will be its fifth office in the northern suburbs and its third to open in less than a year.

O’Connor comes to @properties from Prudential Rubloff where she was managing broker of the company’s Libertyville, Glenview and Northbrook offices. Previously, she was an assistant manager for Baird & Warner in Lincoln Park.

“Natasha has increased production in every market she has worked in, and that is a key for us as we enter the Glenview/Northbrook market with a goal of being the number one firm,” said Thaddeus Wong, co-founder of @properties.

O’Connor grew up in the real estate business; however, she studied for a career in psychiatry, receiving an undergraduate degree in bio-psychology from Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in training and organizational development from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Eventually, she turned her attention back to housing and quickly found success as a managing broker.

“It may have been a little unconventional, but my education really prepared me for a career in real estate,” said O’Connor. “I am very focused on how an office feels and functions and on how to create a positive culture. That was one of the main things that attracted me to @properties.”

@properties continues to chart an aggressive course for growth. Just three and a half years after establishing a presence on the North Shore, the firm is already the region’s second largest real estate company by sales volume. It also has the number one market share in the city of Chicago.

Using Glenview as a home base, @properties will look to serve homebuyers and sellers in the surrounding towns of Northbrook, Golf, Morton Grove and Niles.

O’Connor is confident that @properties will be well received in Glenview and the surrounding area. “As an outside observer, I thought @properties did an excellent job of demonstrating its unique selling proposition to agents and clients on the North Shore. They’ve been able to make smart decisions based on local factors, and they managed a lot of growth during a tough time. They’re going to be great for the area, and this area is going to be great for them,” O’Connor said.

O’Connor lives in Glenview with her husband and twin six-year-old sons. She is vice president of membership for the North Shore chapter of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®.
