We all know that we need fiber in our diet, but we’re all busy and don’t always have time to worry about if we are getting enough. That’s where an all-natural fiber supplement like Konsyl Original Formula comes into play.

Nutrition expert Keri Glassman and Konsyl Fiber, the top doctor recommended all-natural psyllium fiber supplement, have joined forces to encourage people to get more fiber. While fiber is important for overall health and wellness, as well as lowering blood cholesterol, preventing cardiac disease, managing blood sugar levels and insulin sensitivities, most people are still not getting adequate amounts on a daily basis.

“We all know that we need fiber in our diet, but we’re all busy and don’t always have time to worry about if we are getting enough,” explains Keri Glassman, RD. “That’s where an all-natural fiber supplement like Konsyl Original Formula comes into play. It has no flavor so it’s easy to incorporate into your favorite meals to help get that extra boost of fiber you need!”

Below are five high fiber recipes from Glassman featuring Konsyl Original Formula, which is made of 100% psyllium, an all-natural type of soluble fiber. Konsyl Original Formula has 75% more fiber per serving than other leading brands, with 6 grams of psyllium fiber (equal to 3 grams of soluble fiber) in just one serving.

1. Protein and Fiber Shake
Protein and fruit shakes are a great start to the day and help keep you full until lunchtime. This shake comes Keri approved!

¼c        orange juice
¼c        pomegranate juice
1c        frozen blueberries
1 Tbs        Vanilla whey protein
2 Tbs        chopped avocado
¾c        low fat yogurt
1 tsp        pure vanilla extract
1tsp        Konsyl psyllium fiber

2. More Than Grated Parmesean
Finely grate up fresh parmesean and add in a teaspoon of Konsyl. Mix the two together and sprinkle on your favorite foods, such as steamed veggies or even a pizza, such as the Vegetarian Greek Pizza, found on NutritiousLife.com. The parm flavor will take over and you won’t even realize that you’re eating your fiber.

3. Homemade Chili + Fiber
When making up a batch of chili—or any soup for that matter—it’s easy to mix in Konsyl, which can actually help bulk up the texture a bit, and your taste buds will be too overjoyed with the chili to notice the fiber!!

Salsa Chili
2tsp        extra virgin olive oil
1tsp        finely chopped garlic
3oz        lean ground turkey
¼tsp        ground cumin
¼tsp        chili powder
½c        jarred chunky red salsa
1½ tsp        coarsely chopped roasted cashews
¼c        canned red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1tsp         Konsyl psyllium fiber

Directions
1.    Heat the oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and add the garlic and turkey.
2.    Cook about 3 minutes, stirring constantly to break up the meat and prevent sticking, until the meat is no longer pink.
3. Add the cumin, chili powder, salsa, and cashews, stirring to combine. Cook 1 minute.
3.    Stir in the beans and continue cooking 1 more minute, or until heated through.

4. Dress Up your Salad with Dressing
Salad greens and veggies are already a great source of fiber, but adding in Konsyl to your salad dressing before mixing it in with your greens will help you get an extra dose.

Try this dressing recipe for Dijon Vinaigrette mixed with a teaspoon of Konsyl:

1/3c        water
¼ c        white wine vinegar
1Tbs        Dijon mustard
½ packet     Splenda
1tsp        Konsyl psyllium fiber
salt and pepper to taste

5. Bulk Up Banana Ice Cream
A lot of people have been raving about “Banana Ice Cream”! This tasty treat is just simply bananas cut up and frozen until hard, then place in the blender, add a teaspoon of Konsyl and perhaps a choice of nuts—Keri recommends peanuts!
