New Study by MissTravel.com Reveals More Americans are Using Tax Refunds for Travel

Destination-dating website, MissTravel.com, created a destination-to-tax return scale based on a survey of how individuals planned to spend their tax return this year. Results showed that travel was the number 1 expense people would spend their returns on, while clothing came in second.

The average person will receive $2,803 from this year’s tax return (IRS). According to a new survey by MissTravel.com, the number one destination-dating website, travel is the number one thing singles plan to spend that money on.

“Not many people can afford to take a vacation every year,” says Brandon Wade. “For those who still qualify to receive a tax refund, many see this as a form of saving account which they can cash in on.”

The study found that 57% of Americans plan to use their tax refunds on travel, while 34% plan to spend it on clothing, and 9% for their automobile. In addition, MissTravel.com surveyed the same 6,000 individuals using a series of questions to determine whether the amount of return affected their destination choices.

The following are the top three destinations for each price bracket of tax refund an individual expected to receive this year:
