Digital Sports Group today announced that The PFA profile for the professional footballer Branislav Ivanovic has been been updated. The PFA player profiles provide a unique and unrivalled insight into a professional footballers career with full career stats, news biographies and features.
A versatile defender for Chelsea. Equally confident at right back or in the centre of defence, the tough tackling player joined the Blues in January 2008 after two years in Russia with Lokomotiv Moscow.
He became Avram Grant’s second signing for the club, but initially failed to settle at Stamford Bridge, suffering from niggling injuries. He has since made up for lost time, providing a solid, aggressive presence at centre back and an ever-improving attacking threat, especially from set pieces.
One of his notable contributions came against Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League quarter-final first leg in April 2009 when he scored twice. He has grown into a regular contributor at right back for the Blues but missed the club’s UEFA Champions League final victory against Bayern Munich in May 2012 due to suspension.
He is a regular for Serbia at international level and featured at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say “Branislav Ivanovic is a fantastic player and we have been working hard to provide the most fantastic resource that is both enjoyable to use and useful.
