Robert (Bob) Storey, CEO of OsteoVantage, Inc. and Executive in Residence for VIC Technology Venture Development, presented at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine’s conference “The Business of Medical Devices” on April 9th. Mr. Storey, who also works with the Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer office to obtain funding for promising Hopkins technologies moving towards commercialization, participated in a panel discussion entitled “Getting to the Product: Manufacturing and Design” and discussed the challenges and solutions involved in university innovators getting from the proof of concept phase to a marketable product.
The one-day conference was held at the Hopkins Center for Bioengineering Innovation and Design in Baltimore, Maryland and was sponsored by the Johns Hopkins – Coulter Translational Research Partnership. The Center for Bioengineering Innovation and Design (CBID) is a joint effort at Johns Hopkins University between the Whiting School of Engineering and the School of Medicine to advance translational engineering with a focus towards healthcare technology in biodesign.
