It’s very hard being a single mother in today’s society. It’s difficult just being a parent these days. Temptation is everywhere for children and parents often have no control over the paths their kids decide to take. The best any parent can do is to provide their kids with the means they need to survive. Mama…Please Don’t Cry explores the plight of one mother doing the best she can for her children, only to see them go astray. https://www.facebook.com/MamaPleaseDontCry

Smith does a fantastic job of weaving a profound story that shares valuable teachable moments. “Mama….Please Don’t Cry hits home because this is not just the story of one family, but of many families across our country,” says executive producer, Demetria Smith. “The characters are very relatable.”
Gospel music has always been music from the soul. Composed by Ronnie Davis, the gospel music for Mama….Please Don’t Cry is used to relay the varying emotions of the tale and its characters until the very end. It has a way of telling a story all in itself.
This will be the third time Mama….Please Don’t Cry entertains Houston audiences. A compelling story told with great music, it is more than just a stage play -- it is a Mother's Day tradition in The Bayou City, Demetria Smith created for the entire family.
