BOULDER, CO (PRWEB) April 26, 2013
The Motomarathon™ Association has scheduled its annual long-distance motorcycling event in Colorado for June 18-21. The event starts at the western edge of civilization at the Denver West Marriott, where routes will be handed out the evening of June 17 at the initial riders’ meeting at 8pm and again the morning of the 18th at 8am. Riders will end the first day in Durango for a two-night stay with a loop into New Mexico, then night three in Glenwood Springs before returning to Denver on June 21, the longest day of the year.
“Routemasters for this classic endurance ride will be the expert motorcycle map makers at Butler Maps, who will string together the best paved, twisty roads and scenic byways in Colorado and Northern New Mexico,” said John Metzger, Motomarathon founder. “The Colorado Motomarathon will be taking advantage of the colorful landscapes and finest paved roads in the Southwest over the long days of the Summer Solstice.”
Motomarathon routes and checkpoints are kept secret until the night before each day’s ride. Participants complete a series of self-recorded checkpoints using digital cameras to photograph their badge numbers at designated landmarks.
