Luken Names Harlin Vice President of Affiliate Sales

Luken Communications hires industry veteran to oversee television network distribution.

Alex “Dee” Harlin has been named Vice President of Affiliate Sales for Luken Communications. Harlin will oversee distribution of Luken’s seven networks, including Retro TV and The Nashville Network, through broadcast, cable and satellite affiliates.

Prior to joining Luken Communications, Harlin worked at Home Box Office (HBO) for 15 years, serving as Regional Director of Affiliate Sales for nine years. Most recently, Harlin served as Director of New Business Development for Broadband Interactive, a leading contract labor provider for the cable industry. Harlin also brings with him over 12 years of experience in client services roles in advertising and public relations.

“We’re pleased to have Dee Harlin lead our distribution sales efforts for our diverse portfolio of networks,” said Matt Winn, Executive Vice President of Luken Communications. Winn added, “Dee brings more than 25 years of television sales and marketing experience to our team. His passion for the industry combined with his sales, marketing and advertising background makes him a great addition to our team.”

When asked about his new role at Luken, Harlin said, “I’m excited about joining the Luken team and being involved in broadening distribution of our networks while providing effective customer and marketing support to our existing clients.” Harlin added, “We have a diverse product offering and a great story to tell operators in this growing market. It’s a profitable combination.”

Luken Communications offers diverse, family-friendly programming with its collection of networks reaching approximately 80 percent of all U.S. households via a blend of over-the-air, cable and satellite television. The current network offerings include The Nashville Network (TNN), Retro TV, My Family TV, TUFF-TV, MyCarTV and Frost Great Outdoors (FGO). Luken Communications’ flagship Retro TV was one of the first digital broadcast networks launched in 2005.
