Quickfire Restaurants L.L.C., which owns Cricket’s Drafthouse and Grill of Waco and Lubbock and Diamondback’s Steakhouse in Waco, has been doing its part in the relief efforts in West, Texas after the explosion that has killed 15 and injured over 200.

Quickfire CEO Michael Kornman and Diamondback’s General Manager Stuart Illing have been coordinating with volunteer groups and food distributors to bring displaced residents meals over the last week, including fajitas and chicken fried steak. Cricket’s Drafthouse and Grill of Waco and Lubbock also held fundraisers on Tuesday, donating a portion of their sales to funds for the victims.

As soon as he heard about the explosion, CEO Michael Kornman and the managers and staff in Waco were compelled to help. “Our hearts go out to our neighbors from West who have experienced this terrible tragedy, and keeping people fed in this time of need is the least we can do.” Kornman said, “We want to provide them with the comfort of a good meal while they are still making sense of their situations and getting their lives put back together.”

“I am incredibly proud of my whole team,” Kornman said, “from promoting our events, to personally serving meals, it’s been a great effort all around to help our friends and neighbors in West.”
