Myx TV partners with the Newport Beach Film Festival on its 14th year which runs from April 25th to May 2nd, featuring over 300 films from around the world. The network proudly presents the festival’s Asian Showcase which spotlights acclaimed Asian films Key of Life (Japan), A Werewolf Boy (Korea), and One Mile Above (China) in their regional premieres on April 29th at the Edwards Big Newport.
A post-screening event takes place at the Koi Pond Courtyard in the heart of Fashion Island, featuring select tastings from Orange County restaurants, cultural entertainment, and beats by the region’s leading DJs. Select Fashion Island retail partners will be offering in-store promotions to patrons of the Asian Showcase.
Gregg Schwenk, CEO of the Newport Beach Film Festival noted that, “The artists from Japan, South Korea, and China clearly reflect some of the strongest filmmaking in the world. We are greatly honored to be working with such a distinguished array of talent.” The featured Asian films touch on a comedic tale of an actor who finds himself filling the shoes of an assassin, the dramatic narrative of loyalty and sacrifice within families, and one man’s determination to cycle to Tibet’s highest peak.
“Myx TV has always been one of the country’s strongest media advocates of Asian entertainment,” says Miguel Santos, General Manager for Myx TV. “We are proud to support some Asia’s most talented filmmakers and bring their work to American audiences.”
