Business Development Manager, Edward Miller, discusses the cause - one which has special relevance for him.
“My twin girls were born prematurely in November and looked after in St Michael’s Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The care they received was incredible - I’ve nothing but respect for the NICU staff and the literally life-saving work that they do on a daily basis.”
The unit cares for around 750 babies every year and is the only one of its kind in the South West equipped to offer specialist surgery, care/treatment to premature and critically ill babies.
Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal: Cots for Tots Appeal fundraises to provide vital equipment and family facilities for the unit. It also supports the pioneering work of the Fetal Medicine Unit at St Michael’s Hospital, which diagnoses complex conditions in babies whilst in the womb.
Miller adds, “fundraising is crucial to maintaining the specialist care which NICU provides. We’re proud to be representing such a great charity and hope to spread as much awareness as possible.”
