Get ready… for a new generation’s lively celebration of the classic Motown music of the 60’s as “The Motortown Revue” launches at the landmark Beverly Hills Hotel’s Bar Nineteen12 on Friday, April 26th (9 pm to 12:30 am). Beverly Hills resident Claudette Robinson, First Lady of Motown and original member of The Miracles, will attend as special guest for the evening.

As part of Bar Nineteen12’s Live Music Series, The Motortown Revue will be hosted by Actor/Singer/Producer Andre Pitre (Tyler Perry’s “I Don’t Want to do Wrong”) and band co-led by Music Directors Devin “DLP” Parker and Nicholas Blount. The Revue is developed by veteran producer and Motown collaborator Nisi (De Nice Productions) and features some of the brightest up-and-coming vocalists, musicians and producers, most of whom are graduates of the prestigious Berklee School of Music.

Launching closely to the April premiere of Broadway’s “Motown: The Musical” at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City, this west coast celebration
features rousing tributes to Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, The Marvelettes, The Vandellas, Brenda Holloway, Mary Wells, Barrett Strong, Gladys Knight and The Pips, The Temptations, The Four Tops, and Stevie Wonder.

An online contest will be announced on The Motortown Revue web page at http://motortownreview.cloudaccess.net/ where singers can share a taped performance of their favorite Motown tune for a chance to win a luxurious one-night stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel, guided tour of Beverly Hills and a special onstage performance with the Motown Revue. Winner will be announced early August.

“The Motown Sound continues to be influential because it represents the time when our country blossomed into something completely new,” said Nisi, producer of The Motown Revue.

“Having the Motortown Revue perform at Bar Nineteen12 brings a very hip yet nostalgic vibe for guests of all ages to enjoy.
