Newly released US Bureau of Justice Statistics report says government employees more likely to experience workplace violence.

"Having security systems installed in the workplace does not make a company or organization paranoid -- Thomas Sansone Sr.

Every year, the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistic releases valuable data about crime the year before. This year’s report, referring to all of the numbers from 2012, did not bring good news with the results it discovered. Although other categories may have seen a drop in crime, the report found that government employees were three times as likely to experience workplace violence.

What this report means for America’s government workers is that there is an increased need for vigilance from the respective agencies in regard to security. For any number of reasons, workplace violence is carried out in the US and it is not necessarily easy to predict or pinpoint. The random nature of the act means that all workplaces are at some risk of an incident.

Does this mean that every government employee should call out sick and live in daily fear of violence? Not necessarily, but it does mean that there needs to be some protection put into place. It is not a good idea to make assumptions about one’s workplace safety without actually taking actions to protect the area. Many security experts suggest that all workplaces have some sort of access control system put into place because workplace violence can be so unpredictable.

Echoing this thought, Thomas Sansone Sr., President of T&R Alarm Systems Inc discussed the ease with which employers can protect their employees. “Having security systems installed in the workplace does not make a company or organization paranoid and certainly does not mean it is a bad place to work. If anything, it demonstrates responsibility on the part of the employers,” said Sansone.

T&R Alarm Systems Inc has been serving New Jersey and surrounding areas as a premier residential and commercial security solution.
