Go Boston Card and Go Select Boston Pass Visitors Have Access to Museum Events

Smart Destinations is pleased to announce that Go Boston Card and Go Select Boston Pass holders now get free admission to the “Art in Bloom” series at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. The annual event is being held this weekend, from April 27 – 29, 2013.

The “Art in Bloom” series celebrates the influence and inspiration of spring in the art world. Galleries will be decorated with more than 70 fresh floral arrangements inspired by great works of art. The Museum, a major Boston attraction, will also host a number of special sessions, including Ikebana floral demonstrations, “Designing a Garden for All Seasons,” and “Gardens of New York.”

Art in Bloom Gallery Tours and Outdoor Walking Tours highlight relevant pieces in the Museum collections, the floral arrangements, and neighboring gardens. Family Day, which features special art-making sessions and demonstrations for children, will be held on Sunday, April 28 from 10:00 – 4:00 pm.

“We’re delighted that our customers will have the chance to enjoy this Boston tradition,” said Cecilia Dahl, President of Smart Destinations. “It’s something special to the arts scene in Boston and will make their trip a memorable one.”

Customers visiting the Boston Museum of Fine Arts with the Go Boston Card or the Go Select Boston Pass are now able to participate in all of these special spring events, as well as many current special exhibits. Recent and upcoming exhibits at the MFA include: “Visiting Masterpieces: Cezanne’s The Large Bathers,” “Michelangelo: the Sacred and Profane,” “John Singer Sargent Watercolors,” and “Sacred Pages: Conversations about the Qur’an.” Smart Destinations customers can also visit other prestigious Boston art museums, including the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the Institute of Contemporary Art.
