Returning to the music charts on May 20, 30 Seconds to Mars hinted that their new studio album, titled ‘Love Lust Faith + Dreams’ will take fans on a ride through an entirely different universe. The 12-track offering from the band was produced by lead singer Jared Leto in collaboration with Steve Lillywhite and may call for time to declutter the old music collection.
To support their upcoming release, 30 Seconds to Mars have roused fans with the release of their first new single in two and a half years. The band released ‘Up In the Air’, the first promotional track from the album, on March 19. In an interview with Music Feeds, frontman Jared Leto said of the single, “I think it’s pretty indicative of the rest of the album. The album is very personal; it’s a very sexual record.”
While fans may have had to wait until then to download the single, the act got international attention in early March when NASA announced that they would play the song from the International Space Station for both the Expedition 34 and the Expedition 35 crews. Building on the buzz, a video clip for ‘Up In the Air’ debuted on April 19th. In it, burlesque beauty Dita Von Teese commands the lead role, amid some exotic co-stars: zebras, snakes and a lion.
When asked what fans can expect from the new release, Leto hinted at a completely different turn for the band. The group has been known for its intensely loyal fan base, which may be why Leto, who calls the release of Love Lust Faith + Dreams a “new chapter”, also expressed confidence that the avid fans of the band will welcome the new sound.
Leto also says that Australian fans will also get the chance to see the band play new music live. The band plans to tour there this year, although dates and details have yet to be released. Start saving for your ticket by selling your entertainment collection to musicmagpie.com.
