The offer to work with Orange is such an amazing one, and although I've had to give up many other opportunities in order to commit to the long time constraints..., I know that the Lord has placed me in this position of leadership for a reason.

Oaks Christian Online High School junior, Savannah Stehlin, is making good use of her summer by working with Orange, a Christian company based in Cumming, GA, as one of the leads in their new musical that accompanies the travelling KampKidJam program. Orange creates curriculum for preschool through college level students as well as family and leadership trainings. They also put on camps from Texas to Florida called KampKidJam, an annual, summer sleep-away camp made available for churches all across the nation that have implemented the ORANGE curriculum. Because the campers have been exposed to the Orange curriculum for 9 months during the year, the summer camp brings back their favorite Bible characters and worship songs as a way to culminate the final message. Savannah has been an intern with the Orange travelling staff the last two summers and has been offered one of the leading roles in the new KampKidJam musical. She will travel to 7 states and will have an opportunity to perform in front of thousands of students. About the role, Savannah says, “Although this job may seem like all fun and games, it has its serious moments, for it’s this aspect of the ‘show’ that communicates the beauty of God's grace and love and ultimately demonstrates what it means to be a Christian. It’s live storytelling, much like a sermon, except with goofy characters, crazy dancing and loud singing.”

Savannah works hard on her Oaks Christian Online High School (OCO) college-preparatory online classes. She is looking into attending such schools as USC , Pepperdine, and Westmont in California as well as Vanderbilt and Belmont in Tennessee. Savannah will even use her trip to the southeast this summer to visit some of those universities. In a recent, monthly online college counseling event at Oaks Christian Online School, OCO College Counselor, Cyndy Locke, shared the importance to college admissions counselors of what students do with their summers. Mrs. Locke encouraged students to work, attend local college events, tour campuses, participate in internships, volunteer and follow their passions. Savannah has taken this advice to use her summers well to heart and was even offered another opportunity with YMCA’s Youth and Government Program to be one of 25 delegates from California to go to the national convention in North Carolina this year. “The offer to work with Orange is such an amazing one, and although I've had to give up many other opportunities in order to commit to the long time constraints (pretty much my whole summer), I know that the Lord has placed me in this position of leadership for a reason,” says Savannah.
