Oak furniture retailer OAKEA is celebrating this month after smashing all records during its April sale. The sale has been held annually since 2011 and has continued to grow year after year.

OAKEA is a furniture retailer based in Hereford. The company has worked hard to build a strong reputation both locally and online. Unlike many high street retailers, OAKEA designs and produces its own ranges of oak furniture which are manufactured in Vietnam, with OAKEA’s own on the ground quality control staff.

The company also operates a wholesale business; the sale was necessary due to cancelled trade orders and was an opportunity to clear the warehouse of excess stock. “We invited all of our previous customers, and I am very pleased to say that of everyone who attended two out of three bought something.” commented OAKEA's Henrik Pontoppidan. OAKEA smashed its sales record from the previous two years, and thanks to an advertising campaign in the local media the company has not only broken their sales record, but has also added to their customer base.

The clear winner of the sale was the Utah Oak Furniture Collection, a range of neutral oak furniture for the bedroom, dining & lounge. The range combines strong, long-lasting oak, with multi-functional items that offer flexible solutions to common problems; for example the oak wardrobes are adaptable to suit individual needs, there is a laptop desk that folds away into cupboard, the oak bookcases are extra deep, and many units offer large drawers, sized for DVDs for extra storage.

The company has also recently returned to basics and relaunched their oak furniture website. The online sales of the company’s pine furniture and oak furniture have doubled during the first three months of 2013, and look set to continue throughout the rest of the year.
