Orange County wealth management firm IWM Partners will contribute $2,000 to this year’s March of Babies event, a March of Dimes fundraising effort helping to prevent premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality. The support specifically goes to a team created by IWM Partners LPL financial advisor Shawn Hochuli’s niece, Emilie Hamlin.

Although she is currently living in Indonesia, Hamlin is creating a team and fundraising for March of Babies as she has for the past 12 years. Hamlin’s brother and sister both died from complications due to premature birth, giving her and Hochuli a personal connection to the March of Dimes mission. IWM Partners, a financial advising firm that specializes in retirement planning, supports Hamlin’s March for Babies team every year.

March for Babies, March of Dimes’ premier fundraising event, has raised more than $2 billion since it started being held annually in 1970. The official goal for this year’s event, which also celebrates the March of Dimes 75th anniversary, is to raise more than $109 million.

The March of Babies will take place in 750 communities in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. This year, more than 7 million people in 900 communities will participate in the walk.

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health, with chapters nationwide. With nearly 4 million babies born each year, March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies through research, vaccines, education and medical breakthroughs.
