State business is staying in the Toledo area with a new contract for marketing services for the Ohio Lottery Commission.

Hart, northwest Ohio’s largest integrated marketing communications firm, was again selected as one of just three marketing firms across the state to provide a variety of marketing and advertising services for the Ohio Lottery.

The contract calls for Hart to oversee several statewide product campaigns and annual programs for the Ohio Lottery. Work will include strategy, messaging, creative development, content development, media buying, digital design and dealer communications.

These efforts will help the Ohio Lottery to grow its player base and meet several marketing objectives. The two-year contract begins July 1, with renewal options of up to four years.

“We’re proud to represent northwest Ohio at the state level,” said Marc Paulenich, senior vice president, strategy and COO at Hart. “The deep understanding we have developed of the Ohio Lottery’s business and customer has consistently helped us advance its efforts statewide. That knowledge was apparent throughout the selection process, and it’s what gives us confidence in our ability to develop exciting and effective new campaigns in the years to come.”

Hart earned the contract based on several business characteristics, including the success of its previous work with the Ohio Lottery. First entering into a state contract in 2009, Hart has helped the Ohio Lottery with game promotions, contributing to a 30 percent year-over-year increase in sales for the KENO game. Hart also supported campaign development for Instant Playbook Tickets, the re-launch of Kicker for Classic Lotto, and the development of all interactive How To Plays on the Ohio Lottery’s website.
