The total deal value registered in the world global foodservice industry was USD 50.7bn in 2012, with debt offering transactions dominating other deal types, posting about USD 22bn or over 43% of total deal value in 2012.
The restaurant channel recorded 448 deals worth nearly USD 15bn, representing just over 44% of the total deal volume and 29.3% of the total deal value in 2012. North America saw the majority of the high value transactions that shaped the foodservice sector during the year, accounting for 42.3% of the total number of deals. Just over 44% of the total deals having taken place in North America were reported within the restaurant channel.
