CPAmerica International’s conference season kicks into full swing with four live meetings in June 2013. The Northeast Partners Meeting in Providence, RI, Marketing Roundtable in Las Vegas, NV, Accounting & Auditing Conference, and Technology Roundtable in San Diego, CA are all available to members looking to continuously improve.

Members flock to the live meetings not just to meet their continuing education requirements at a great location, but for the quality of the content and professional relationships they develop along the way.

When asked about the regional meetings, Sol Schwartz & Associates, P.C. leading partner Jeff Albrecht said, “The partner meetings give us an opportunity to meet with fellow members and keep up with the trends of public accounting.”

While the format of the conferences and roundtables has changed over the years, one thing has not – the quality of information shared by either an outside speaker or a colleague. “I have always been impressed as to the quality of speakers secured by CPAmerica for the conference. Like the clients we serve who have changing needs, so do we as marketing directors. And CPAmerica has always been mindful of this,” said marketing director Rose Breuss, with McGowen, Hurst Clark & Smith, P.C.

Members are given the platform to develop close-knit groups and professional relationships throughout the year. These friendships are reinforced during the conferences. They can call each other to discuss important business decisions or to just catch up; and many members do.

“One thing that I think is a key benefit of the roundtable is that so many of the IT folks attending have been with their firms for more than a few years, which lends itself to great pool of knowledge about the various accounting software packages, operating systems, networking technologies and everything in between,” said director of information technology Neal Becker, with Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman, CPAs. “Everyone is more than willing to share what they know, what has worked for them and what hasn’t. Sometimes you’ll find out about a little utility that you’d never heard of before that fixes a problem or accomplishes a task that has been bugging you or your users for some time.”

The 2013 CPAmerica Accounting & Auditing Conference/Technology Roundtable has a schedule packed with all-star speakers, member sharing and several networking opportunities. As part of a special event, attendees will be bused to the San Diego Zoo to tour the elephant exhibit and have a private dinner.
