We’ve got a strong team and we’re confident that they’ll do Great Britain proud. With various stages to contend with, let’s hope Wiggins can repeat last year’s glory and become a winner for the second consecutive year.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the cycling world’s most daunting challenge, otherwise known as the 2013 Tour de France – and who better to show support for this event than leading French furniture specialist, Classics Direct.

As cycling fans prepare to cheer on their heroes on Saturday 29th June, this tour is set to be huge news – and it will be the first tour ever to be completed solely on French ground since 1988. Starting in Corsica, the famed race comprises 21 gruelling stages featuring 10 new stage towns – with the riders to be welcomed home at the Champs-Elysées on Sunday 21st July.

Director at Classics Direct, Richard Baker, said: “The 100th edition of this event is sure to get the sporting world excited, especially with the likes of Mark Cavendish and Sir Bradley Wiggins taking part. Covering the incredible distance of 2,088 miles, our men are going to need as much support as they can get – and Classics Direct intends to back Great Britain all the way!”

In addition to backing the GB team, Classics Direct also supports luxury furnishings – launching the family run business back in 2005 in a bid to raise the standards of the furniture industry. With a love for high quality reproduction French furniture, Classics Direct stocks a wide range of timeless products available in a number of finishes, including leaf, metallic, painted and polished.

“We’re hopeful that our boys will win the Tour de France for us,” added Baker. “We’ve got a strong team and we’re confident that they’ll do Great Britain proud. With various stages to contend with, let’s hope Wiggins can repeat last year’s glory and become a winner for the second consecutive year.”

Offering a vast selection of traditional furniture to bedroom packages, antique lovers can admire handcrafted furniture and its attention to detail courtesy of the Classics Direct vintage French furniture collection.
