It gives me great pride knowing that our properties are situated in such safe regions, and thanks to the safety features we’ve put into place – such as adding security alarms – we hope that this has contributed to the drop in these figures.

Home burglaries in both Hampshire and the Isle of Wight have dropped by 28 per cent, much to the delight of new homes retailer Banner Homes.

According to the Office of National Statistics, research showed that there were 3,855 house thefts in the two counties in 2012 – the biggest drop ever to be seen across England and Wales.

Marketing Director at Banner Homes, Piers Banfield, commented: “This is welcoming news to both ourselves and residents in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight – however, what makes this statistic extra special is the fact that our homes are located within these areas. It gives me great pride knowing that our properties are situated in such safe regions, and thanks to the safety features we’ve put into place – such as adding security alarms – we hope that this has contributed to the drop in these figures.”

A police spokesperson confirmed that the ONS figures exhibited the second biggest decrease across England and Wales, with crime in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight falling 16 per cent last year to 111,665 offences.

“Having your home broken into can be extremely traumatising, which is why we’ve invested a significant amount to ensure people’s safety,” explained Banfield.

“For example, our waterfront development in Cowes, Isle of Wight, comes with secure basement parking for all apartments complete with lift access to each of the floors. In addition, our Casbrook Fields homes in Hampshire feature multi-point locking systems for the front doors as well as outside lights with infrared sensors direct to the front door for maximum security.”

With a range of new properties for sale throughout the south east of England designed to the highest of specifications, Banner Homes has been building homes – as well as its excellent reputation – since 1975.

Renowned for its mission to create sustainable luxury homes designed for the 21st century, what makes Banner Homes property so unique is its relevance to modern technology; and recognising that with more and more people working from home, accommodation should be developed to meet this new approach.
