Both Gentle Giant Moving Company and the Windermere Cup Regatta promote athleticism and teamwork, and I am incredibly proud to be involved with this renowned event
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) May 03, 2013
Gentle Giant Moving Company, an award-winning local and long distance mover, today announced its sponsorship of the Windermere Cup Regatta, a national rowing event celebrating its 27th anniversary this year. The moving company, with locations in Seattle, Wash. and eight other states, will host a hospitality tent for Windermere Real Estate agents and their guests. This is the third time Gentle Giant has sponsored this prestigious event.
Gentle Giant's Seattle Moving Company aims to continue building community ties via their presence at this year’s regatta, now an annual tradition for the city of Seattle and the surrounding region, drawing thousands of spectators and more than 800 rowers. Gentle Giant is now entering its sixth year of operation in Seattle and is continuing their national growth strategy, which is based on opening branch locations in new markets while sponsoring community-based, high profile athletic events, such as the Windermere Cup Regatta.
Sponsoring the Windermere Cup Regatta is a natural fit for Gentle Giant, which was founded 33 years ago in Boston by Larry O’Toole, a long-time competitive rower. In the early years of Gentle Giant, O’Toole found success by hiring like-minded athletes, from college athletes to Olympic medalists, to move furniture with him. This is a practice still employed by the company across the country.
“Gentle Giant sponsoring the Windermere Cup is a privilege and a wonderful opportunity for our growing business,” said O’Toole. “Both organizations promote athleticism and teamwork, and I am incredibly proud to be involved with this renowned event that brings so much excitement to the rowing and Seattle community.”
The Windermere Cup Regatta will take place on Saturday, May 4th along the Montlake Cut 2000m Rowing Course, and will be viewed by thousands of boat enthusiasts and members of the greater Seattle area community. “Windermere Cup is a time honored tradition that we look forward to every year,” said OB Jacobi, president of Windermere Real Estate. “We’re thankful to our friends at Gentle Giant Moving Company for their ongoing support of this event.”
