The much-anticipated classic-car show and slow cruise returns to Abacoa on May 4, featuring all makes and models of American and European cars that take visitors back to days past.
The classic-car show and slow cruise show gets under way at 5 p.m. on Main Street and the surrounding neighborhoods of Abacoa townhouses for sale near University Boulevard. In addition to cool cars, there are a variety of vendors, food and drink discounts, raffle prizes and a parade of cars that begins at 8:15 p.m. The parade of cars winds through the community’s Jupiter homes and features pre-1974 customs whose well-tuned rumbles turn heads.
After the classic-car show and slow cruise, visitors can patronize any of the fine restaurants in Abacoa for dinner.
Generally the first Saturday of every month, the classic-car show last month took place April 13 because the Jupiter Seafood Festival was on the bill April 6 and 7.
While the classic-car show and slow cruise remains one of Abacoa’s most popular activities, it’s not the only one. Abacoa is home to several special events, including the recent Relay for Life Jupiter / Tequesta fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The Relay for Life Jupiter / Tequesta took place at Roger Dean Stadium – overnight -- as teams of runners walked around and camped beside the relay track. This year, a total of 33 teams consisting of 377 participants raised more than $27,000 for the cause.
Cancer survivors, residents of Tequesta, Jupiter, Juno Beach and other surrounding areas, and business sponsors came together for the community event, taking turns relaying around the baseball field.
