Internet users now demand a much more specifically tailored service and most people don’t want to have to sift through hundreds of unsuitable ‘matches’ to find someone to date.

The latest innovation in dating is about to be launched in the UK! Date In The City is tapping into the emerging trend for niche dating with a brand new membership website that’s set to become a huge success.

A Great Way to Date in your Local Area
Over the last decade internet dating has grown from a minority activity into a global phenomenon and whilst niche dating sites have always been present, the market has been dominated by large generic sites like eHarmony, Plenty of Fish and Match.com.
In recent years, however, the way we use the internet has changed significantly and users tend to be far more specific in the things they search for. Search engines like Google and Bing are in constant development to meet the needs of their users which has led to a huge increase in niche markets for all sorts of sectors, including dating.

Simple and Straightforward Local Dating
Date In The City was created by three London girls who were fed up with the dating scene in their area. Together they decided to create a dating website for people just like them that would help people find potential relationships in their local area and provide lots of useful information about how and where to date.

“When we first started Date In The City” explained Alice Jameson, one of the site’s founders, “we did it purely to satisfy ourselves, but we managed to tap into something that a lot of single people were looking for, especially in large cities like London and Birmingham where it’s so easy to end up feeling lonely in a crowd.”

“We’re blown away by the response we’ve had to the London site and delighted to be rolling our concept out across the entire country. We’re launching sites for online dating in Manchester, Brighton, Birmingham and Bristol to start with and we hope to provide our service in every major UK city within five years.”

The New Niche
Dating expert Alice Swift explained why she believes the niche dating market will soon outstrip global sites.

“Internet users now demand a much more specifically tailored service and most people don’t want to have to sift through hundreds of unsuitable ‘matches’ to find someone to date. When I offer advice on internet dating one issue that comes up again and again is long distance relationships. People aren’t willing to travel 100 miles down the motorway to meet a potential partner, which is why a localised dating site is such a great idea.”

In addition to dating opportunities, Date In The City also incorporates dating diaries packed with tips and advice designed for singles in the local area, including the best places to date.

“Our unique selling point is the incredible experience we offer our members,” explained Alice Jameson, “they can find the best people to date close to the area they live in and tons of localised advice and information that they won’t discover anywhere else on the web.”
