A top priority for us is hosting an event that not only will inform our customers as to how to make use of new technology in their businesses, but also demonstrate a strong commitment to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Irvine, CA (PRWEB) May 02, 2013
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital began with a prayer and a promise made by Danny Thomas, who became one of the best-loved entertainers of his time. Now this charity has a new partner, O’Neil Software, looking to help support them in their mission: to find cures for children with cancer and other deadly diseases worldwide.
This year, O’Neil Software has selected to sponsor St. Jude Children’s Hospital at their highly anticipated oneilPartner™Conference (formerly known as their Strategic Partner Conference). This event will take place September 18th - 20th at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, California.
The goal of this event is twofold: it’s defining what’s needed to capture the records storage and management industry’s growth potential, as well as sponsoring a charitable cause. O’Neil’s Conferences continue to transform a business and social group function into an unforgettable charity experience, whose positive effects linger long after the event is over. No stranger to giving, O’Neil Software has an impressive history of providing visibility to and raising funds for international children’s charities such as the Orange County (OC) Ronald McDonald House® and the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. All proceeds from their conferences have gone to the selected charity.
“A top priority for us is hosting an event that not only will inform our valued customers as to how to make use of technological advances in records storage and management effectively, but also demonstrate a strong commitment to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and help those less fortunate,” notes Ian Thomas/Executive Vice President of O’Neil. He adds: “So it’s our intention, through our conference, to help educate our customers as to how they can become the future leaders in their industry, as well as help St. Jude remain funded during these tough economic times. I’m certain that this year, our attendees will go on record again, displaying true generosity.”
A Story of Hope
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital owes its existence to a prayer and a promise made by Danny Thomas. Almost 70 years ago, as a struggling young entertainer he knelt in a church and prayed to St. Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of hopeless causes: “Help me find my way in life and I will build you a shrine.” That simple promise and his later success as a television star led Danny to found St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which opened in 1962.
Danny believed that research could unlock the mysteries of catastrophic childhood diseases and change the fate of children battling cancer, sickle cell disease and other life-threatening illnesses. He envisioned St. Jude as a place where scientists and doctors would work together to find the cures and develop treatments that would save lives and be shared freely all over the world. And he promised that St. Jude would be a place of hope: where no child would ever be turned away based on race, religion or a family’s inability to pay and where parents could focus on their children and not worry about the cost of treatment.
In keeping with Danny’s promise, St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. Families never receive a hospital bill. And St. Jude provides family resources ranging from parent support groups, to arts and crafts for patients and siblings. They also offer free transportation, lodging and meals to their patients and a family member. Guided by their founder’s vision, St. Jude has become a beacon of hope in a family’s darkest hour, where parents can focus on one thing: leaving the hospital with a healthy child.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
A National Resource with a Global Impact
Local hospitals are vital to the health of children in every community. But St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has a unique mission: to generate the knowledge that will save the lives of hundreds of thousands of children stricken with cancer and other catastrophic diseases throughout the nation and around the world. St. Jude remains committed to keeping their founder Danny Thomas’s dream alive that “no child should die in the dawn of life.”
When St. Jude opened its doors, childhood cancer was a virtual death sentence. Working together under one roof, St Jude’s scientists and doctors have pioneered treatments that have helped push the overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent in 1962 to more than 80 percent today.
